The Rickshaw

One of these fine beasts is to be our transport and home for two to three weeks just after Christmas. So what is a Rickshaw exactly? They are used as taxis in towns and cities all over India. They are small and maneuverable, ideally suited to the chaos that is Indian traffic.
With a massive 145cc, packing an awesome 7bhp, capable of 55kph we will tackle all sorts of terrain from jungles, to deserts to mountains. Most of which, the rickshaw will be totally unsuitable. For the real nerds amongst us, check out the tech spec of your average Rickshaw.
Just to make things a little more interesting, the organisers are arranging it
for our Rickshaws to be pimped up before we start. For the non MTV generation the
concept of pimping is modifying in the tackiest most pointless way possible.
This is made a little more difficult as we will be remote to our rickshaw until a day before the event starts, so we will be "distance pimping" the beasts. This (at least in theory) works by us sending off requests to the mechanics in India so that they can modify our rickshaw for us. We can request that things like ludicrous paint jobs, sponsor's logos and dragster style rear wheels be added to our rickshaw. We're open to suggestions from our supporters as to how our rickshaw should be pimped. Drop your suggestions into the guest book, or if your feeling really creative, download the rickshaw plan view and get scribbling.
